April & Michael’s Elevated Atlanta Wedding Celebration at 42West

April and Michael’s wedding at 42West was one of those days that reminded everyone why a well-executed plan matters. With nearly 200 guests, custom details around every corner, and a packed timeline of meaningful moments, this celebration balanced sophistication and fun in the most intentional way.

From the very beginning, April brought a clear vision to the planning process. She knew what she wanted, made thoughtful choices, and leaned fully into design elements that felt personal. Her bold color palette stood out beautifully against the modern backdrop of 42West, and her attention to detail showed up in everything from the carved nameplates at each place setting to the neon LED sign that lit up the reception with their new shared last name: Hanley.

Michael, for his part, showed up as the supportive, thoughtful partner every planner dreams of. One of the most memorable touches was the gift to his groomsmen — elegant boutonnière pins.

The couple met at work and spent years as close friends before falling in love, so it’s no surprise their celebration felt layered with history and emotional weight. You could feel the connection not just between them, but in the community that surrounded them. Their guest list was full of people who’d known them for over a decade, and the energy was pure support and joy from start to finish.

Personal Touches That Stood Out

April’s sorority, Zeta Phi Beta, played a meaningful role in the evening, with several moments of singing, dancing, and speeches that brought an extra layer of heart and celebration. Guests left audio messages through an After the Tone phone line, and when they weren’t dancing, they were taking in the beautiful floral arrangements, modern balloon installations, and a beautifully lit reception space that felt both elevated and inviting.

The Flow of Their Atlanta Wedding Day

The day moved seamlessly thanks to an intentional timeline,  starting with a heartfelt ceremony and ending with a full-on dance party after a special send-off moment for the older guests. One of the biggest wins? The planning made room for everyone to feel included and allowed the couple to stay fully present from start to finish.
